Norwegian tax specification
In Norway the prices quoted in the shop must include VAT.
The information on the total cost of the buyer to pay, including all taxes (VAT) and specification of the individual elements of the total, must be given by the shop before the order is made.
This is regulated by law.
As far as I can see Goodsie do not fulfill these spesifications and is not legal to use in Norway. I'm sure it is the same situastion in the other Scandinavian countries and possible other places in Europe.
Can you adress this issue?

Please give me a feedback on this issue and it's status on the product backlog. If it's not prioritised I must find another solution.

Please, I'm waiting for a feedback on this issue.
Will you put it on your product backlog or not?
Will it be prioritized?
Thank you!

Hi,
Currently our setup is this: the product price does not include tax; after an item is placed in the cart and the customer selects the destination, the tax is displayed as a separate value. Does this not meet your needs?

If my input could help:
The tax rules are completely different between the US & europe. In the US, you will see the price before tax, and then taxes will appear once you proceed to the checkout. In Europe however, all prices everywhere are already including taxes (VAT), and the amount of tax is detailed on the invoice.
What you could do is put your prices including taxes, without including a tax rule on your settings. Once you invoice your customers, just include the amount of tax right under the total price. That way you are following EU law. The shipping settings on Goodsie are set up for US stores, so EU stores can ignore them.

Dear 24004 :)
Thank you for your suggestion, That might do the trick, The only problem is that according to Norwegian law the information on the total cost of the buyer to pay, including all taxes (VAT) and specification of the individual elements of the total, must be given by the shop before the order is finally made. Just including amount of tax on the paper reciept is not a good solution,

In that case, goodsie should come up with two different categories of shipping in their settings: one for the US shops, and one for the EU shops. I guess it should't be too hard - the US system is already in place, and the EU system just requires showing the price without tax under the total price in a smaller font to make it discreet so that people understand that it's just the price without tax, and not the price they will pay for.

But this is an issue that is being adressed? You are working for a solution?
Can I expect an update this year?
If not I will have to find another shop platform, because I can't run my shop and not fulfill the legal requirements in my country.

I'm waiting for a response. If you will not look into this I must look for another ecommerce solution.

Exactly the same issue here (in Belgium). The store doesn't seem to have to option to show the full prices of the product. It's ok if it's split out in the checkout, but in the store it should have the tax included already.
Books are taxed 6% in Belgium. I have to show the price of 19.95 in the store and not have 18.82 in the store and have that corrected at checkout to 19.95 ...
