A few important suggestions! Search and categories
I'd like to start off by saying Goodsie is an amazing product. So much so that it even managed to impress my boss! However, there are a few glaring omissions from what would otherwise be an excellent tool for us.
To begin with, Goodsie needs a search tool for end users. It is ridiculous to expect customers to search through pages of products when they could just enter a few keywords in a search box and have the products they'd like to see pop up in front of them. And to make this an even more powerful tool, it would be great if this search was live, similar to Google Instant.
Secondly, categories needs to be implemented better in to the site. It seems kind of pointless to have the ability to put products in multiple categories if there is no way to filter out certain categories. The new drop down introduced would be perfect for this (and it would've seemed the obvious choice, too...) but instead it rather confusingly seems to work only with product options? Though please correct me if I'm wrong!
Please understand that these are only suggestions that I feel would make an excellent product even better and they are not in the slightest intended to be criticisms! But it would be brilliant to see these suggestions acknowledged and maybe even included in future revisions of Goodsie!
Regards,
Ollie

Oh and for the crème de la crème, please get rid of the bevel effect on the add to cart and view cart buttons! They would look much nicer if they were that flat, translucent dark grey like the rest of the buttons on the site!

Hi Ollie and Nils,
Thanks very much for your feedback. Search is on our to-do list.
To help me understand your request regarding Categories a bit better, you'd like to see a selector within the design panel that would allow you to choose which categories appear in the Category dropdown, rather than defaulting to all?
Thanks,
Heather

Firstly, Thanks for the reply Heather! Its great to know that Goodsie are actively monitoring these forums and listening to what we have to say.
Secondly, I made a quick illustration to help make my suggestion for categories a little easier. I believe they should be based on specific areas such as colour, manufacturer etc. with which categories chosen elsewhere in the Goodsie admin page.
I hope this explains my point a little better!
Regards,
Ollie

Hi Ollie,
Ah, I see. So you would essentially like a subcategories option? We will take this into account for future updates.

Exactly! Haha I subcategories... never thought of that word! But yeas, a subcategories option would be perfect and I believe it would be very beneficial to all Goodsie users.
I hope this can be developed quickly and I hope a search tool will be pushed a little further up your list of priorities! Goodsie is a very compelling tool and little refinements like these will make Goodsie even more attractive to both its current and prospective users!
Regards,
Ollie

I'd like to add my support for a sub-categories feature!

we need sub categories! or at least the option to only display selected filter categories for certain pages/listing pages.

Hi Jared,
Thanks for your suggestions! We've added that to our list.
