Importing Products

You can import product data into Goodsie in spreadsheet format by uploading a CSV or Excel XLS file. This is useful for transferring product information from another service, updating product inventory values in one batch, or for performing other operations to a group of products in one step.

When you upload a product spreadsheet, Goodsie searches for a product with the same SKU (specified in the second column, as outlined below). If it finds one, the existing product will be updated. If no product with the row's SKU is found, Goodsie will add the row as a new product.

We also support importing options and extras. Please make sure rows for options and extras appear immediately after their parent product. In order for option/extra import to work properly pay particular attentions to the "Product Type" column, as this is how you indicate which type off item (product, option, or extra) a given row is.

The spreadsheet you upload should contain the following columns from left to right:

If you like, you can download this CSV template to get started:
goodsie_products.csv

The following fields are required: SKU, name, price, quantity, status, type. If others are left blank, this will not affect your ability to upload the document to Goodsie.

When you export your products from Goodsie, the resulting CSV includes extra rows beneath each product row for options and extras. When importing, Goodsie will ignore rows that contain only Option or Extra information.
